Billy said "I am going to designate one server as a TFTP (instead of using laptop) and boot the newer IOS on all of the 3640's! Will be good for CCSP!"

Make sure the tftp server has a fixed IP address. I did the stew puhd move of leaving the tftp server up as a dhcp client. (IP addy assigned by a different router.)

Duh....

Thanks Bill! Will do.. pretty simple, just static IP on host and dhcp exclude the static on the router acting as DHCP server.. also have to permit the TFTP/DHCP traffic through the zone-pairs!

I want to play with that actually because I have a cool little DHCP server that sits on a thumb drive so this will give me a chance to throw a rogue DHCP server on my network from different locations and actually see how mitigation/lack thereof works in RL! Should be fun!

Oh---I fixed this a week ago. Was trying to load a 3620 IOS onto a 3640...der der der...

LoL.. Should have seen me trying to run SDM to an emulated router without the SDM files installed in flash! For some reason it just wouldn't work! Der!

I just picked up a 2651XM for 100$ came with two wics (DSL/T1)..it hasn't come in yet but should be here this week so i agree that buying stuff with stuff in it is cheaper..

bobbyforhire,

That is a GREAT price for a 2651XM router, how did I miss it :)

2950 switches have also dropped in price since last time you were in here, I have seen them go for $40 to $60 each at times and with the EI around $100

I just asked about YOUR lab in the other post, you might want to make a new post and fill us in on your lab and study material since it has been a while since we have heard from you!!

I'm jealous on the router too. Hope it's maxed out on memory too.

I saw that unit. Thought about it. Congrats, hope its on good condition.

BTW, I won that disputed claim over the 2651.

There is a seller on Ebay lately trying to sell a 2651 for cheap, but refunds your $$$ after a week, without ever explaing why...

Burt

Is the item still in your "items won" list? You can get his eBay ID there if the transaction is less than 60 days old.

Burt,

I hope you posted "Negative" for this guy, I know the sellers were upset by the new way that you can post so they can not post negative on you - the worst ones always wait till you post ......

I won a 2924 switch about 8 months ago for $29, a week later I sent him an email asking the status since I paid a min. after winning, he sent me the link where he ordered the shipping lable (but not sent it) 7 days later I asked again and he refunded my bid and said that it was "lost" by the post office - BS !!!

I posted negative and he had a fit - pointed out to him from his own link that he ordered a lable and had not mailed it (checked with my post office) funny that he had same switch up for sale the next day and I asked and he said that was another switch he had - BS. I think he thought he should have made MORE $$$$ on the switch!!!

I got the last laugh because that switch sold for $17 tee hee, tee hee, tee hee, tee hee :)

Yeah---myself and 7 or 8 others posted negative about him. I guess he wanted more for it. Little do they know that when you post the sh ver output, the serial number shows up, so you can tell it's the same device...der der der...

Bill---I deleted it, not really caring. I think I may have it in my email, but may have deleted it there. The 1,026 mails in my inbox are only taking up 4% of my Gmail account...lol

Burt
