I have a few Cisco ASA 5505 and ASA 5510 Firewalls that I have asked out DHCP team to reserve me an IP Address for these Firewalls but the issue is that when Microsoft see this ASA's Interface 0 MAC address its a many characters long. How or what are others dealing with this issue. If I do a show interface on the firewall for interface 0 the MAC looks fine but when it tries to register it'self or arp for an address the interface MAC is very long. How do I deal or fix this?

I would inform the DCHP team that you need to assign the IPs to the firewalls statically but need the reservations so no one else pulls the same IPs. The DHCP can annotate that the IPs are for the firewalls in the description field.

I am aware that the address I want to assign to the Firewall can be reserved on the DHCP server but that is not our practice. We always reserve by MAC Address .
