I setup a Aironet 1130AG on our network. And for some strange reason, it would reboot some of the laptops we have, out of nowwhere. There is no subnet or IP conflict going on. I don't have a clue as to why this is happening.
Thanks

Hi,

Are the laptops rebooting because the Wireless software is crashing or are they rebooting when the AP is connected to the Network. Are you using Windows or the Cisco ADU?

Rgds,

John

Hey Packet7, they are rebooting when the AP is connected to the network. Yea, we are using windows.
thanks

Hi,

Do the laptops have any related events in the Event Viewer? Are they crashing, or going through the restart cycle? Does the same thing happen when the Wireless Card is disabled? Keep me posted.

Rgds,

John

Hey Packet7, I can't find it anything in the event view that is causing the problem. The systems will actaully Blue Screen with Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL for NDIS.sys address F7882FOF base at F786A000. THis only happens to Dell D600's. Once the system detects the wireless, it blue screen. I think have to go into safe mode and disabled the wireless.
thanks

OK, that helps. Are the Dell D600's fully patched and using the latest Wireless Driver? Also, are you using Windows Wireless or the Cisco ADU (Aironet Desktip Utility)?

Rdgs,

John

ahhhh gezzz, I must be losing my MoJo. I don't know why I didn't think of that.. I updated the driver and it fixed the problem.
thank you for your help.
