Cisco 837 lost boot file?

Hi,
not really 'played' with cisco before. Using an 837 router.
I managed to change from CRWS to SDM, all was well.
I downloaded some help for setting it up as a VPN server from the cisco website.. thats where it all went horribly wrong!
I can only connect via the console and when i type reset i get boot: cannot determine first file name on device "flash:"
its a new 837 so all software should be current versions.

HELP!
as I said, really new to cisco, so instructions for a dumb person would be great!

are you in rommon> mode? if so, type dir flash: command and there it wold tell you if you have any IOS in flash memory,
if not probably the IOS was deleted, if not type
boot flash: file_name that appear in dir flash: command

when I do dir flash: I just get

sdm.shtml (deleted)
home.tar (deleted)
sdm.tar
sdm.shtml
home.tar
home.html

I presume this means I have no IOS in flash memory.
Where can I get this from? I have just registered a smartnet contract with cisco but they say 48hours before you can access the download section??

try to find any on the web, I dont have an exactly ftp server or a web page.

Probably i can help but i need to know wen did you purchase your router and maybe i can get you a software

I got the ios software from the cisco website but thats about as far as i got!
I've played around with it for many hours today but not gone far.
All I want is to get back to running SDM or CRWS and a basic configuration.
I even reached the stage of ordering a netgear adsl modem and hour ago just incase I dont get it working!

fixed it!
once i realised that ethernet 0 was the router itself and if you do no shutdown it turns it on I was away.
might keep the netgear modem just incase!
