I need to configure a cisco 801 at an office to allow incoming calls from a remote site (also an 801) and allow them to have access to the LAN. The office 801 also needs to be able to call out to an ISP for e-mail and web access. Can anyone out there help me with this? I tried using Config-Maker but I could not get the router to work properly with the config it produced. The office 801 also needs to use NAT because the public IP address is assigned at connection time by the ISP.

Hi There, I don't know if this is relavent, but I spend a long time trying to get to 801's to talk to each other without success. It turned out to be an IOS problem. I upgraded to 12.07XV and the ConfigMaker configuration worked. May be worth trying.

I have done configuration like this before. They can be a little tricky, so take it one step at a time. Don't worry about the remote site just yet. Try to get the internet connection first, then worry about the remote. The IP address of the dialer interface should "negotiated". For the NAT, this dialer will be the outside interface. Your ip nat pool will need to be to this interface (i.e. ip nat inside source list 1 interface dialer0 overload)

See if this helps.
<A HREF=" TARGET="_new">
