I have a client who has a Cisco 761.
I want them to send me their complete running config.
Does anyone know what commands I should give them so they can do this?
They just need any one of several different "free" TFTP software programs running on a PC. Make sure the TFTP is running and you know the IP address of the PC.
On the router he will need to go into privledged mode by typing in ena and the password.
I always "ping" the TFTP first just to make sure I can reach it -
router# ping 192.168.1.99 (or whatever IP of the PC with the TFTP running)
Then he just types -
router# copy start tftp
Then just follow the promps, should ask the IP address of the TFTP server next (the PC running TFTP software) and then what you want to call it.
This will send a copy of the start-up config which is what router loads on boot and is running unless he has made changes and not saved them.
All he has to do is go to the folder that the TFTP uses and send that file to you as an attachment in an email, they are rather small files!!
We have as Cisco 2600 with a dialer profile for the Cisco 761.
We have a successful connection.
When I try to telnet the router it appears as though a connection is made but I am not presented with any prompt!
When the user does this from their LAN they are presented with password prompt.
There are no odd NAT rules anywhere and I am now completely confused!
Is our 2600 doing something strange with telnet emulation??

What is that from? Not any Cisco I have seen...close to CatOS, but that's a switch, and close only counts with, um...well, Cisco's not in that list...lol
Anyone able to shed any light on this?
I have asked the client to run the commands in the last post but they are not exactly quick Hence why I want to get onto the box myself to sort it out.
