we have a cisco 7911 IP phone working with a CME. recently the screen is dead.

PS: the phone has an IP address from the DHCP server of the CME and it is pingable!!

Can anyone help please.

Sounds like your phone is ready for the trash-can :p

What you can try is factory default the phone.

- Power off the phone.
- Hold down the # key.
- While holding #, connect an AC adaptor to the phone.
- Continue to hold # until the line buttons blink amber.
- Release the # key.
- Enter 3491672850*#

The lights should change color from amber to red. When this occurs, the
phone is resetting to factory defaults."

thx Silverblade,

i already did the above mentioned steps but the screen is always dead. i am currently reading on some forums that i should wait about 30 minutes before the reset????

on other forums they mentioned that i need to re-install the phone firmware. any idea?

i found the following reset sequence you can try to let the phone get his firmware anew.

- reset the phone with the # pressed
- then press 123456789*#0 in sequence

if this doesn't do it I'm afraid you're display is just fried.
