I'm trying to setup my Catalyst 4506 with IOS to log to my syslog server. I have everything setup and events are being received by my Linux box, but I'm not receiving any ports going up or down. I'm running IOS ver 12.1, I have my syslog trap set to informational. I have been using this setup on my Cataylst 3548 XL switches, and I'm able to log the up downs. I'm I missing something with 4506?

Ah... Yes, on the 4500 series they turn that off on every interface. If you had a 200 port access switch, you probably wouldn't want that being logged. You can however turn it back on. The command is "logging event link-status". You need to do this on every port you want link status messages.
