Good Morning Cisco Experts,

I seem to have problem load balancing traffic over my two frame relay interfaces, whenever I disable the fast switching on the Interfaces then the traffic seem to be load balanced but the problem so that we are monitoring traffic statistics using Netflow tracker so we need to enable netflow switching on interfaces so that the software can get the flow information once that is enabled the loadbalancing again stops.
Has anyone faced a problem like this ? I will
really appreicate your opinions and suggestions to solve this problem

Many thanks

What do you mean when you speaking about load balancing?
Two types exists "per-packet" and "per-destination".

Bojika,

Actually my setup is ..

Cisco 3660
(Site 1) Serial 0 => (Frame relay Interface) (Site 2)
Serial 1 => (Frame relay Interface)

The router is running EIGRP and both links have the same metric to the destination (2)
Fast switching (ip route-cache) was enabled on both interfaces, and as I understand and correct me if I’m wrong fast switching does per destination load balancing and creates a cache of destination address so once a cache is created for a particular traffic lets say mail traffic, the newely arriving mail traffic will be fast switched using a particular interface hence not utilizing the second interface, I disabled fast switching
Which in turn enabled process switching which does per-packet load balancing this Switching of traffic load balanced on both interfaces, but as we are using Net flow tracker Software to monitor these WAN links we needed to enable Netflow switching which again created the problem of not load balancing traffic properly.
I have recently enabled CEF on the router and the router seems to be load balancing properly but I’m not very sure if it is a good idea to run CEF and Netflow switchiing at the same time ?

Has anyone had the same problem ? any ideas or suggestions will be highly appreciated

Many thanks
aht
