Does anyone use the Nortel VoIP I2004's on a Cisco 3560? I am trying to use the switch as the DHCP server for my phones and my Win2003 DHCP server for the clients. The phone connects to the switch and the client connects to the phone so I am using one port for each, pretty standard. Anyone have any configs for this?

Hi,

Any reason why you dont want to use your DHCP server to issue both scopes?

We do this, just add in the relevant scope options for the Nortel phones (we use MITEL) and it's all quite happy.

The only reason some people are still alive, is simply because it's illegal to kill them!! ;0)

Can you be more specific? I am unaware of the scope options that would allow this. Sounds like a better way though. Can you give me more info. please?

I spent ages trying to find this information and eventually found this document:

Page 49 details the Options that need adding to the DHCP server to fully automate the IP Phones. Bear in mind how they boot and which DHCP Scopes the options need adding to (Data & Voice VLANs).
