Cisco 2950 switch reset.. 1

I was resetting a Cisco 2950 switch.

I ran the password reset procedure up to this part:

flash_init
load_helper
copy flash:config.text flash:config.backup
erase flash
reload

When the switch reboots it comes to a prompt

switch:

I run the the 'boot' command and get the following:

switch: boot
Loading ""...: permission denied

Error loading ""

Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.
Boot process failed...
switch:

I cannot do anyhting else. It will not load a boot file. I have tried to rename the backup file to a .text file and even unplugged and rebooted but no luck.

Can anyone help?

The command erase flash was not suppose to be in your steps. You have erase your flash and need to reload the IOS. The link to do this is listed below.

Yeah I found a similar article. Took about 1.2 hrs to upload the new BIN file but it worked.

If you follow directions to set the baud speed for xmodem to 115200 it will take less than 10 minutes.

Follow the directions towards the bottom for speeding up xmodem.
