Hi All,

I'm looking to limit bandwidth on a port but cannot find the commands (i did find srr-queue but doesn't seem to work.

Do you have any ideas and is there any further information you require?

Cheers!

srr-queue bandwidth limit %% may have other config items to make it work. I assume you checked on Cisco.com... (I didn't really assume - I looked)...

If you didn't already read this -- try to see if it helps

If you can't read it, I'll post the text for you...

PS: I didn't read it in detail -- but I'm bad! ;-)

Hi CommAdmin,

Thanks for replying.

I've had a read over it but i can't see if there are any prerequisites i need to do to get srr-queue to work. Our switch certainly doesn't accept the command. I'm stumped!

Thanks for the link DGRizzard. Guess we will look at other options.

unless i'm missing something with your requirements, as long as you're running minumum 12.1 on EI then you have access to the full MQC for QoS configuration so you can police the ingress traffic.
Code:
access-list 101 permit ip <source_ip_or_range> <mask> <destination_ip_or_range> <mask>

class-map match-any cmap_test
  match access-group 101

policy-map pmap_test
  class cmap_test
    police <bandwidth>

interface fastethernet0/0
  service-policy input pmap_test
the only problem with this is that i don't believe you can get below 1mb/s so if you're looking to police the traffic down to 50kb/s or 100kb/s it won't work.

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)
