I have a 2811 router with no modules installed.
Can I turn 1 of the 2 fast ethernet ports into a switchport?
Then plug it into a switch?
If so what are the commands to do this?
switchport mode access?

Also I have read that this 2800 offers VOIP phone system capabilities?
What IOS and hardware do I need to offer this?
Thanks.

Nope. Multilayer switches can have their ports turned to routed interfaces but router interfaces can't be turned into switchports. You can make bridge groups between interfaces to bridge non-IP traffic. Or you can install a switch module int eh NM slot.

Just what are you trying to accomplish?

Agree with Cluebird!
You can't do that on the normal FA ports,
To be honest, I can't get why you are going to do that anyway!

But you need to get a cisco hwic-4esw module which will provide 4 switch ports for you.
