We have just installed a Cisco 2801 with dual T1s for our data connection. It then runs to a Sonicwall TZ170 and then to the network switch. We have an internal mail server with a public address of 64.##.##.## that NATs internally on the Cisco router to a 10.0.1.##. Every so often, the NAT translation will change from the actual 10.0.1.## number to another random internal IP causing to look like the mail server is offline to outside users. Is this a router issue? I didn't write the config as it is managed by ATT. Anyone ever see this?

Added note..., a reboot of the router fixes the issues until the NAT translation changes again. I can't see any time patterns either.

Well for it to be natting to a private address, i am assuming the sonicwall is in Transparent mode> and the router is doing overload as well? anyway the main thing is to make sure that nothing else is being leased that natted private through dhcp.

The firewall doesn't have to do anything.

internet--2800--firewall--LAN

the nw from the 2800 to the firewall is I assume in a private range. The LAN is a totally different address range, assuming 10.0.1.x, correct?
