Hi,
I have a Cisco 2600 Router that I purchased from Ebay to use in my CCNP (passed CCNA last week, and thanks due to those who gave me some guidance when I was stuck with RIP routing and classful addresses).
Anyway, I wanted the 2600 for using as the mechanism for generating a VLAN - since my Sybex books indicated that the lowest cost Router for ISL was that series.
The unit is pretty basic with one Serial expansion interface and has a default ethernet e0/0 port which is a 10BaseT port as far as I can tell, since it will only initialise as such on my Intel 420T or Cisco 2912 Switches.
To cut to the chase, will the Router support a fast ethernet port expansion module, and if so, cn anyone tell me what the model of the module is?
I *have* looked on the Cisco site, and also in a couple of hardware expansion booklets, but can only find a reference to 3600 expansion modules, none for the 2600.
Obviously, I can support a few VLAN's by putting extra 10BaseT connectors onto the Router, but I really want to do the 'Router on a Stick' ISL configuration if at all possible.
Your help very much appreciated.
Best Regards,
