Hello,

I have a Cisco 1841 with 1 /30 IP assigned to the WAN interface.

On the LAN insterface I have 1 /29 with 6 IPs, however just got another /29 with 6 additonal IPs giving me a total of 12 usable IPs. However, the /29's are in 2 different IP ranges.

How can I apply second /29 to the existing /29. By the way they share the same /30.

Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

Well, you could make them all /28, which puts them in the same subnet. Any reason this cannot happen? If not, then you can create a couple of VLAN's, assuming the 1841 is capable of intervlan routing, and also assuming that you have a switch that supports the creation of VLAN's. The only other option would be to have another interface on the router, that is if you need the two subnets to communicate with eachother, and you could route between both subnets in the router. If there is no reason to separate the broadcast domain, just make all /28...if you need help with the numbers, post what you have now, IE a simple topology and ip addresses.

Burt,

Is there an address I can email you at or would it be possibel to IM you.

Thanks,
CA

Burt,

The 2 /29s are handed down from the ISP and share the /30 for the WAN. I don't know if this helps or not.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Thanks,
CA

just add the second /29 as a secondary address ???

ip address x.x.x.x y.y.y.248 secondary
