Hi- I have 3 Cisco 1721s each with T1 DSU WIC and 10/100 eth port. I also have a 2611XM with 2 FastEth and 1 T1 DSU WIC. I am setting up my lab to start studying for my certs, and I wanted to see if anyone knows if its possible to set up router-router serial connections via the T1 DSU WIC cards. I have been searching the web, but not finding any info on it. If anyone has any info or lab set-up suggestions, I would GREATLY appreciate it!!

Thanks,

This is actual possible. I have a home lab setup like this. You would have to make crossover cables using pins 1,2,4,5. 1 --> 4
2 --> 5
4 --> 1
5 --> 2

Thanks for the info.
Also, does anyone have any lab set-up tips for the routers I have? What should I add/change?? I am working on my CCNA, then will tackle my CCNP. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks,
Scott

foster0004,

Here is a free pdf download for a GREAT CCNA lab book -

and

Learning by Doing: Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) Lab Manual version 4 volume 2, eBook
by Matthew Basham

There are several hundred pages of labs designed for 1, 2 and 3 router setups for the CCNA exam.

Matt was my "train the trainer" instructor in the Cisco Network Academy System.

I hope this helps!! It is a great book and the price is right(FREE)!!!
