I have a Gatway PC with Windows 98, I am having problems with the Cinemaster 2 DVD Player - I get the following error message when I click on the icon: An error has occurred, DVD player will now exit. ErrorLevel: Deadly, Location:DVD_Base, Error:OpenUnits. I have re-installed Cinemaster SW from Restoration CD and still get error message. Has anyone encountered this problem?

I suggest that you do an up-do-date virus scan and check for Spyware.

I would also visit the manufacturer's site of the DVD player and install the latest drivers.

I've done the Spyware check and did not find any. And I have gone to Gateway's website and downloaded their latest drivers. Thanks for your suggestions.

Is a specific DVD that won't play? Some DVD's have problem playing multilayered disks.

Have you looked at trying alternate DVD Player software? The software may have problems coping with the DVD.

Rob, thanks for your help. I put a new dvd software on and I am able to play the dvd and utilize it. Thanks for all your help! [2thumbsup]
