CID not working with Magic Jack VoIP - Possible Fix 1

I have a Lucent Partner II System (P ACS R2.0.1 CO1), with 4 18-D extensions. Line 1 is from a MagicJack USB/RJ-11 to the Line 1 input of the Partner System.

Caller ID works on the "Softphone" (the MagicJack Phone on the PC's desktop). However, it doesn't get sent to the Lucent Partner System and display on the phones.

When the MagicJack USB was plugged into a MacBook Pro Laptop, caller ID was repeating on the Lucent Extensions.

I'm going to Radioshack and get a 100k ohm resister and put it across the line prior to plugging into the Partner Control Box.
 
Unless the Magiccrap is operating to Telcordia's standards for CID, you will probably continue to have problems. The Partner ACS meets those standards. Did you try a REAL phone line on the line port or a different port?

One other item of note, the MAC may be emulating a phone, but that is all done in software and the Internet, not on the phone network, so who really knows what is going on the the CID protocol.

There is so much junk out there trying to pass for real telephony, not even invented by Cisco!

Thanks Jim. I agree with you (and I have too much time on my hands). This was an experiment w/ MJ and & I do have landline service (and a Comcast VoIP), feeding the ACS all with no problems. I take the MJ with me to Europe and make & receive calls from the States (free). ATT was charging me over $2,000/mo roaming with SFR in France and Moviestar in Spain. I bought an unlocked iPhone in France last year and use that with local $28/simcards as well.
