CID and Provider account codes

I have a customer that had a DID for the fax machine at a secondary office. They want the faxes to go to the corporate office fax server and eliminate the fax machine. All of the DID's are required to enter a account code that runs through the provider, not IPO. The DID is directed to a user that forwards to a SC that sends the fax to the corporate office's fax server which is then emailed to the desired people. I used a field character of Y in the SC to allow the account code to be entered. That works fine. The problem is the caller ID. Because of the short code and the field character Y, I don't know how to change the caller ID. I tried a field character of s with the desired CID, but it doesn't appear to work with the other field character. The provider is using the DID caller ID to PIC the call and is being PIC'ed to the wrong carrier. My suggection was to just PIC the DID to the correct carrier, but the provider said they would only PIC the one caller ID. I can't talk to the provider to confirm this. So is there any way to make the two different field characters work together in the same short code or series of short codes? Or any other ways to acccomplish this? I can't afford to lose to much more hair.

Just curious, does my post not make sense or is this something that I need to fight out with the local provider?

you could try to make a new ARS just for the fax that sends the correct outgoing caller ID and send the calls out through that then your shortcode should to the touchtones for the account code and the ARS will have the caller ID in it.

Just to get that right, if you call out sending different caller ID's your line provider sends it through different LD carriers?

it should then work with the ARS suggestion as it will combine the sending of the caller ID via ARS with the pause and after dialing of the shortcode. In theory at least

Thanks Westi for your input. That was my theory also, but have not been able to make it work as of yet.
