I have a customer who wanted new phones. I changed out the ten M7310's they had with T7316E's, but the CICS won't recognize the new sets. How can I change this? I have gone into maintanence and no luck. Please help..

Define "no luck". Do you mean you swapped them out on a per set basis, and they continued to flash forever?

If set relocation was turned on, that's problem #1. They should come up eventually, but you'll have to be patient, and they're extension number will be different when they do come up. Turn it off to avoid this.

If they came up, but line buttons started halfway down the set, you've probably got older software. If they just want the new look of the phones, re-label the sets accordingly.

If they're not coming up at all, you may have gotten a bad batch of phones.

The customer wants the message indicator light to work , I have enabled the message wating feature. I looked at the sets and they all show the old M7310's. I changed the sets on Monday and they have not changed.

What are you using for voicemail and what is the version?
What is the CICS Version?

if the sets are showing 7310's in maintenance then that just means that your software is below 6.1 but they will still work they just take awhile to come up sometimes...be patient they will work...like rikrodgers said you may have to re-tag the sets cause of the software level or you may have T7316 non e's they will start your lns. 4 buttons down instead of at the top where you would think they would start.
