CICS Fax - HELP!

Ok, I am over my head here and calling for help. I installed/programmed out CICS/callpilot 100 system. It's been a while so what knowledge I accumulated in the process has quickly disappeared. Now I want to add a fax machine at an extension to pick up an external line. I have a working line going to the fax machine, and programmed norstar to tell it the Fax DN is 31. The machine picks up no dial tone--inside or outside. Obviously I am totally missing something huge???

Use the IATA port in the CICS. Port 117, default DN 37. Pinout is pair 20 on the trunk cable - yellow/slate
If you are using DN 31, you likely have a digital port to the fax
