Customer has CICS 6.1 with CP100. About 7 phones. Doctors office. Doctor wants 4 different mailboxes that he can activate based on which doctor is on call. The mailbox would say the office is closed and call this cell phone if you need to speak to the doctor. But there are 4 different doctors. What I was thinking is have 4 phones with mailboxes, no trunks and c/f no answer to vmail after 2 rings. Then they forward the reception phone to 1 of the 4 phones each night. I am not opposed to leaving 4 M7208 phones in the phone room for this application. Could I set up the phones and then unplug them? Does that make the most sense? I am trying to make it as idiot proof as possible.

You could just put up a CCR that says thank you for calling for after hours emergencys please press 1 or 2 or 3 etc to reach our after hours and then set up a branch as an external transfer. Then just change the number to whatever doctor is oncall.

Why have the mailboxes say they are closed when AA should have already done that right off the bat?
Can we assume only 1 doctor is on call?
Are you saying the greeting tells people what mobile # to dial?

With canflyguys suggestion, reception would have to login to the CCR Tree to make changes... if that's OK, a little dangerous.
Reception at closing:
Log into F983, Other, CCR, Admin, 1, OK, Chg, 1, OK, Chng, Path 1, Lmsge, Ext and change the mobile #

--------

Your problem with your 4 set scenario is the call will go to the originating mailbox which would be reception.

--------

Most sites do this for emergency mailboxes:
Create a mailbox allowed to transfer external
Setup greeting to press 7 to transfer to mobile (or no transfer, leave a message and have Off Prem Notify activated.
Have your emergency path point to that mailbox.
Reception at closing:
Log into that mailbox nightly and change the mobile # as required.

That is as simple as it gets, no need for any sets or extra mailboxes.

--------

Another scenario, perhaps too crazy...

No sets....just the 4 mailboxes
Setup 4 guest mailboxes
Allow external transfer and program the specified mobile #'s so users can dial 7 to get to the mobile.
Greeting "You have reached the after hours mailbox, if this is non urgent please leave a message after the tone or if this is an emergency then press 7 to be directed to the doctor on call."
Or you could also just have them leave a message and setup Off Prem Notify to their mobile.

F983
Greeting 1 - "Thank you for calling Feelgood Medical"
Greeting 2 - "Thank you for calling Feelgood Medical, if you have and after hours issue press 1 now" - Path 0 greeting then takes over
Path 0 - If you know your parties ext please dial it now, for hours of operation press 5, for location press 6 etc.
Setup paths 1 to 4 to Leave message at each of the 4 mailboxes:
Path 1 > Transfer> INT> - Mailbox 301 - Dr Strange
Path 2 > Transfer> INT> - Mailbox 302 - Dr Who
Path 3 > Transfer> INT> - Mailbox 303 - Dr Ruth
Path 4 > Transfer> INT> - Mailbox 304 - Dr Feelgood

Reception at closing:
Log into mailbox 102, dial 99 and re-record greeting 2 - to reflect which # to press (1 to 4)

--------

No mailbox and 1 set scenario...just transfer to the doctors mobile

Path/Node 1 - for after hours emergencies press 1 > Transfer INT > X299
X299 (which is setup/allowed for external forward) sits beside reception

Reception at closing:
F4 DestCode Mobile#oftheday

--------

You can also utilize "Close The Business"
but too much to do here..
Reception at closing:
Log into F982, close the biz
Log into mailbox 102, change greeting 4 to mention of pressing 1, 2, 3 or 4
Greeting 2 - "Thank you for calling Feelgood Medical, if you have and after hours issue press 1 now" - Path 0 greeting then takes over

--------

Some of the above would be easier via the browser too.

Setup a different CCR Tree for each doctor
Reception at closing:
Log into Callpilot Manager
Go to AA/Greeting Tables/Chg 1/Change the Tree number for Evening (1 to 4)

I am sure there maybe a couple more ways but...I am Outta Ammo!

Wow. That was deep!

i think the outbound transfer (dial 7) is the cleanest way to do this. At the moment they give out the phone number which is strange so this could be an improvement!
