cics auto attendant 1

I have a reuirb cics with Compact ics 4.0 documentation
a software card that says cics 4X16 cics dr 6.0 s/w
the system under maint says 930CGE02 NAT.

I am trying to get an auto attendant working with jusr 2 grpps ,4 lines no voice mail Just to 2 other phones and an answering machine
I have auto attendant on,ccr on, sytem ans on,have defined rings and ccr grps 1 with 001&002 lines and grp2
with 003 7 0004 lines, attendant set as 21
when i call in the lines just ring and ring

I tried with sys ans off , ccr on and visa versa

first time for this ,am I missing something simple here or what
 
You are missing many things. What you are saying does not make sense, or at the minimum have no relation to each other. You should call a qualified vendor if you want your system to work correctly.
 
Disregard my prevoius post- though a tech would help- I misread thinking you were trying to set up a VM. I do not set up the internal CCR's so I can offer no assistance.
 
sorry I really didn't explain or type that very well
just want sys ccr
small system 4 lines/no vm/all4 lines appr& ring on 4 sets
sys programming /I turned on auto answer/att 21
/ccr lines 001,002,003,004
/ccr grps grp 1(dn21),grp 2(dn22)grp 3 (dn23),grp 4 Dn2

admin/f*832 to turn ccr on to business open
/f*833 to ccr tree shows dial 0-att,dial 1-grp1
dial 2-grp2 etc
at this point I thought I could dial in and the permanent
built in messages, bur the lines ring & ring,ccr doesn't happen

 
Did you set the number of rings before CCR answers?
System Programming-->Auto Attendent-->ccr-->ccr lines-->no of rings.

ccr set @ 2 rings

also with admin prog with *833 it shows
auto att msg A,B,C, options user/off/try to record under user(ccr off) it says try again. the pre recorded messages
are on D,E,F,G user/sys/off(with these under sys you can play pre recorded mess, but under user record-says try again
software module is dr 6.0 s/w, it seems this would be okay
because all the prompts etc are available
 
OK I just set up a 4.2 CCR setup(6 should be identical)

under
System Programming-->Auto Attendent: AA on
System Programming-->Auto Attendent-->ccr: after 3 rings
System Programming-->Auto Attendent-->ccr-->ccr lines:L001:Yes
System Programming-->Auto Attendent-->ccr-->ccr Group 1: 21
Feature * 8 3 2 Set Business Open

Set up this way I got a CCR answer straight up. I think you might want to try 1 ring instead of 2 and I think that Feature * 8 3 1 should be off (system Answer)

I have everthing as you say but the lines ring and ring
and then if you hang up from the outside line, the line key keeps flashing and the sytem resets

If I take it out of AA and call in the lines ring and ring, then when I hang up from the outside line, the line key flashes a couple of tmes and hangs up ok, as it should

Am I missing something else ,elsewhere
 
it almost seems like you have the system answer turned on. check it under two locations. System Programming-->auto attendent: and under feature * 8 3 1.


it concerns me that the system resets if you have it in CCR answer so I am going to suggest that you get a tech out there, the system is not supposed to be able to be reset from a call coming in and it should be looked at.

thanks for all your info, it backed up the programming I had done and made it a lot easier to convince the supplier that there was a problem with the software card. they sent me anew one and presto, it works. I haven't done one for awhile so I had to make sure I was doing it write
