Hi everyone,

I need to increase our DN length from three digits to four digits. I'm OK with the fact that it will add a 2 before all of our DNs. All of our current three digit DNs begin with a 1, ex. 100-120. Therefore, all new DNs will be 2100-2120. However, I'm concerned what I have to do to the Call Pilot to make this change. I've heard that you have to rebuild the ENTIRE VM for this to work. Can anybody go through the process? I'm pretty experienced with the CICS, but I have never done a DN length change before.

Thanks,
Matthew

Yes you do, you have to reinstall your Voicemail by doing F983, log in, press 1, then reinstall (password). Once your voicemail has completed its reinstall process you will then need to reconfigure your voicemail and reprogram everything.

Ditto to what NamLy said.
Namly - I have a question for you- When you do the reinstall does the CP keep its keycodes- or do they have to be re-entered?

Bkrike, as far as the many reinstalls on voicemails i have done. It has kept its keycodes. But you know the warning, you should keep all keycodes near the CP. :-D

Does the CP need keycodes if it has only the 10 mailboxes licensed? Our vendor (TDS Telecom) did not give us any of the keycodes.

Nick your answer is no. You wouldn't need a keycode for CP if you bought the basic(410) CP. If you added any boxes then you would have keycodes or some of the other functions that require keycodes.

Since too many of our customers seem to mess up when adding keycodes, I always add the extra mailboxes before we ship any CallPilot. After I reset the CP's to default the mailboxes are still intact, and any other keycodes that have been installed.

feature 983,1 ...just clears up all the database/ programming information only.
It cannot/ will not cancel out the keycodes

Ok, so I should increase the DN length from 3 to 4 digits, then do a F983, and start rebuilding the AA, CCRs and mailboxes? Also, will the mailbox no's be 4 digits as well. What about the park codes, 4 digits now after the DN length change?

Thanks,
Matt

The DN length change went fine. I appreciate everyone's help. Now to get everyone in the office used to the 4-digit DNs!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Matthew
