I am trying to setup an anomoyous ftp server. When I am in /usr/ftp I tried to execute the command:
chroot /usr/ftp
I am logged on as root but I get the following message:
chroot: cannot execute /bin/bash: No such file or directory.

There is /bin/bash and I have also got /usr/ftp/bin/bash

If anyone knows what could be causing this problem please let me know.

thanks

You need to create a bin directory one level down from the root ftp directory that contains the commands that need to be used like ls, mkdir, .profile, etc. For example:

/ftp_secure_level_dir/bin

The bin subdir will be on the same level as the other user directories that will be connected.
