We have users who DID NOT choose "full access" when first logging in,
and are now unable to print, which requires the ability to save to the
local harddrive.

The Citrix knowledge base article: CTX568194

indicates that the ICA Client Security Settings are stored in the file
webica.ini in the %windir% path of the client’s Windows operating system

but we have found that editing the GlobalSecurityAccess value in this file
to -1 does not cause the ICA Client Security Dialog Box to reappear,
so that we may have the user select "full access."

How can we bring up the security dialog box again for users who need to
change that information?

After connecting to Citrix, double-click on the ICA icon in your system tray. Their is a "security" button on the right. Click it to change your options.

Thank you rjs for your reply.

Double clicking on the ICA icon in the system tray
does bring up the ICA Connection Center dialog box,
but the buttons on the right, for us, are:

Server - "Disconnect"
"Full-Screen"
"Properties" and
"Logoff"

There is no button called security,

which is why I posted the message in the first place.

How pray tell, do I get back to the security settings,
if there is no way to bring up the reconfiguration
dialog box.

Beekeeper,

I made the changes per the Citrix article, rebooted, and logged into our Metaframe server (desktop) NOT Nfuse. The Dialog box popped up for me.

Have you had your users try to connect directly to the server after a reboot?

Let me know if this help,

zr

If the application IS NOT published in a seamless window (meaning the application is in a Citrix window) you can also single click on the ICA icon located on the upper left hand corner of the Citrix window.

IF you are using the ICA Web-Client , there is a file on the local users drive that can be deleted. Upon the next connection, they will be prompted for the access again...
It is C:\WINDOWS\webica.ini

The security level in the file can also be changed to 405 which will give the Citrix access to the local drive. I have found it easier to just delete the file though. Mike Brown CCA

Thank you Zaneryie and jdemmi for your responses.

We do not have the ICA icon in the upper left hand
corner of our window. So I guess that means we are
operating in seamless mode.

And I thought the webica.ini file was specifically
for the NFuse accessible option.

webica.ini will be used when the web client is used...we do not use NFuse (hate it). We used a basterdized version of it without the need for another server or frilly web page. Mike Brown CCA

You know Mike, we have tried deleting the webica.ini file
and changing the access to -1 (supposed to bring up the dialog box)
and to 405 (to grant access) and it did nothing.

The webica.ini file was recreated, yet the security dialog box
with the radio buttons did not pop up.

We assumed then that the security settings were being stored in
the registry on our win2000 machines, but we could not find the
settings there.

Our clients are reaching the Citrix solutions through the client
engines that they have always had installed

(we just began offering the NFuse connection route)

which is, the ICA Program Neighborthood Client, not the ICA Web
Client. So I guess we have an irregular arrangement, and I wonder
where those security settings are being stored.
