Choose Pixel Format Failed? (3DS Max V.1.2 on WinME) 1

Loaded my old v.1 3dsMax on Windows milienium edition.
worked fine until I tried to change the video drivers.
Now on startup I get a "pixel format failed" message".
Clicking OK on this gets me a 3DSmax fatal error........
"device initialization failed" check device settings using
-H command line. Uninstalled and re-installed several times
with same results. Hoping someone can tell me how to get
this running again. Thanks in advance.

run this "C:\3DSMAX3\3dsmax.exe -h" and when the window pops up change it too the default

Thanks a bunch, Azmaramza. That did the trick. I had to "rem" out the old driver in 3DSMAX.ini before the box would pop-up to let me change it. Wouldn't have gotten remotely that far without your prompt reply. Thanks again you saved my carreer from certain doom! Think I'll name my first born after you. He is 23, but I don't think he will mind.
