Hello
Can IE open an other application than itself when we choose to open a JPEG file ?
I know that Netscape Navigator can do it.

Thanks for replying

Try this: Open a window that has a JPG image in it. Holding down the Shift key, right click on one of the JPG files. In the pop-up window that opens you will see an option called 'Open With'. Select that and you will be able to reset the tool that is used to display images.

Let me know how it goes.

I can't see the Item "Open With". It can be seen only if I click on a JPG File in the explorer. IE doesn't care the application I Choose even if the option "Open This application next time" is choosen.

Try the same method from Windows Explorer. Find a jpg file, select it, then hit Shift and Right-Click the file. Select Open With ... pick the application, then check the "Always open with..." option. Not real sure if this will work from a web page though. Most of that is done through hyperlinks, so it will open the image in your browser.

Internet Explorer ignore this manipulation and open the image with itself... ???

Open Windows Explorer, go to View>FolderOptions, click the File Types tab, scroll to jpeg image, click the Remove button.

Now try the method as described above.
