XP Pro SP2
After uninstalling (with difficulty) Windows Defender my computer now goes to the Chkdsk announcement blue screen on most...BUT not every restart. Checkdisk (not /f) completes with no errors found, and the system continues and boots with no evident problems. Then, a boot or two later the Chkdsk routine runs again as noted. I haven't run chkdsk/f (which I think I recall has do be done from a command prompt..right??)
Perhaps this is unrelated to the Windows Defender removal, and the running of Chkdisk doesn't seem to find or cause problems. But I don't like it! Any ideas?
