Hello,

I am building a PC for a customer, and I am using an ASUS T3-M2NC51PV (barebones system). Everything looks good and installed XP ok, but when it comes to installing the system drivers they are only for Vista.

The network status shows as sending packets but 0 recieving. The network cable and port on router work fine for other PC's. When runing ipconfig the PC gets an IP and gets default gateway etc. Windows firewall is disabled and the workgroup is setup correctly. My server can see the PC when doing a net view but can not connect to the PC via UNC or RDP.

So I thought about installing the ASUS drivers, all of which are for Vista! I went to the ASUS website and selected the XP O/S and the drivers that it downloads are all Vista or XP(64), which are no good for me : (

Can anybody help please?

Hi gavm99,

I have been there and selected the WINXP options, but when you download the drivers and install them they fail with error about not being compatible as its not a 64bit O/S???

So i'm guessing the links are incorrect as they are pointing to the wrong drivers : (

Thanks for trying to help

I verified that both the Windows XP and XP 64-bit pages are the same for the chipset. Go back there and make sure you are selecting the following item clicking the Global link:

NVIDIA nForce C51PV/MCP51 Chipset Package Driver WHQL V8.25 for Windows 2000/XP
56.45 (MBytes)

Also, you didn't state as to whether or not you can get out to the internet. Is this possible?

Hi guys,

I managed to sort it in the end, which is a relief. I had tried using Ver 8.25 which didn't work, in the end I used Ver 4.5.2.0 which worked.

Thanks for the input though, cheers
