Chennel setting for older DSS T1

Trying to cut over a conversion from Nortel MICS to Avaya IP Office with older DSS T1, Two way DID with E&M Trunks. If I program the new IP Office with E&M Switched 56k, I can make calls but can't receive calls, I have incoming set to auto answer. calling party hears no ringing. system status shows the call coming in but never rings the incoming call route destination phone. Could it be a problem with the answer timer?
 
Thank you for your post, but the link is for E&M Tie Lines between two PBX's, I need to connect to a local provider using an older DSS T1 with E&M Trunks for two way DID calls.
