Hello all!

i have a question:
I have a solaris 2.6 and i want to chenge the time-zone from GMT to IST (the Israel time zone)
date -u wont to the trik.

well i did!
but it doesn`t work - i think it needs to be compyled , no?

Have you rebooted since you changed the TZ variable ?

The init process reads this at boot time.

is there anyway to compyle it without a reboot??

You could try the telinit command, which tells init to re-read its information, but I am not sure if it will reset the TZ variable.

Checkout man on "zic" timezone compiler to recompile timezone for immediate effect.
command is "zic -v <file you have altered>
Timezone files are in /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo
