My question is . . . Will checkpoint 5 run on an IP440?
and will it run reliably?

Anyone have a reference for this?

What is CheckPoint 5?

Sorry 5 is incorrect, I am referring to NG (Next Generation).

Ah! How much memory does your IP440 have and what IPSO version does it run?

Chris.

We have NG on IP440 for about one year. It is quite stable and no problem so far.

Checkpoint NG (FP3/HF2 and earlier) have run fine on all Nokia platforms for a while.

With NG you need at least 128Mb RAM for things to run at all, and NG likes lots of RAM (far more than 4.1) so 256Mb or more.

Also, note that NG likes disk performance in it's management server, and the older Nokia machines (IP330/IP440) just dont have the disk I/O throughput for larger rulebases, so consider a nice Sun Netra T1 or a well spec'd Intel machine with SCSI if possible as a management server if you dont already have one.

Apart from that, no problem :)
