I'm new to Intuity Audix, I have a Definity G3si and want to program my 8410D to press one of the buttons to check their voicemail. Right now they dial extension 2000 and it asks for their extension, then password. How can I make it know the extension already, and just ask for a password?

If you just press # Audix will assume you want the vmail for the extension you are calling from. You don't always want it to assume this so you have to press something!

go into the abbrv-dial personal list from your station.
write the audix dial in as an abbreviated dialing 2000~p##20.
create a button abrv-dial: list (yout personal list) DC: (the position where you have write the code).

What is the #20 for?
I agree with the 2000~p#
I have programed this shortcut into a system speed dial
so all users can just dial that number and they are then asked for there password. Also you can then set a single speed dial button to it.

to bobg1

for example

2000~p# is to log on into the mailbox system.
# is the password
2 is to go into the new message menu
0 is to hear the new messages.

but this is for a definity audix system, i don´t if it is the same in an intuity system ....

Callmaster-

That would only work if the user had no password on their voice mailbox. You need to either have the user add their password to your programmed dialstring or stop at the first #.

Thanks, the # worked. I will program the 2000~p#, and to keep it secure I will make them type in passwords.
Thanks!

it was only an example to help jrobs ...
he can program the dialstring however ...

If you have the audix button programmed already, the user simply needs to press # + pswd# if they are calling from their phone.

By pressing # at the first Audix Login prompt it assumes the extension from which you are calling.

e.g.user 1 at ext 1500, presses audix button then # then his pswd# should get in. If he is at ext 1501, he'll need to dial 1500# + pswd#

Remember what Ronster said "If you just press # Audix will assume you want the vmail for the extension you are calling from. You don't always want it to assume this so you have to press something!"

You must emphasize to users that this short cut works if you are accessing audix at your own station to your own voice mail account. Otherwise, people will be calling you to tell you audix does not work. If you are at other people's station and try to access audix, you still need to dial the audix system number.

If the station in question is logged in as an agent ID, Audix will take the AGENT number (not the STATION number) as the mailbox number if you just press the # button.

Just another wrinkle.....

Cool. I got it to work too. Is there any way that I can put pauses in without having to do it manually from the console? IE, is there a way to enter pauses from the phone? We all use 6408D+ phones so we use the soft-menu and the soft-keys to program our AD's.

I have not tried this, but spotted it in the administrator's guide:

Program a button as "abr-spchar". The manual describes this as:

Abbreviated Dialing Special Character:
allows users to enter an associated special
character [~, ~m (mark), ~p (pause), ~s
(suppress), ~w (wait for dial tone), or ~W
(wait forever)] when programming an
abbreviated dialing list entry.

Looks like you might have to play with it a little.
