We have a router that we are tagging EF Voice packets for sending over our MPLS network. I've had several complaints that voice sounds robotic.

What commands can i run on the router to check that these packets are being tagged correctly?

i already found:

sh policy-map interface <interface> command.

Thanks,

How much bw are you reserving, and how many calls occur at the same time?
Do you have NBAR set up, like top-talkers?

This is the one thing I've always had issues with. The best way I've found to make certain you are marking your packets correctly is to break out a packet analyzer.

The other thing you can do is if you are using an ACL for matching, you can do the show access-list command

I'm a little confused, the comamnd you stated should tell you what you need to know. Assuming you setup the policy-map correctly you should be able to examine the policy on the appropriate interface that actually tags the traffic.

The policy should have information on packets matched, bytes matches, offered rate, drop rate, etc. This show command is one of the better if not the best ones out there for QoS.

Now if you want to get down and dirty as stated before, a packet analyzer will work as well. Don't know that you actually need to take it to that level though.
