Hi all - we have some pupil accounts that have IE set to clear cache on close, using mandatory .man profiles (cookies folder only contains index.dat) and I've been asked to see if there is anyway to know if a pupil has been to dodgy sites. Outside of the nonwritable profile and apparently nonsaving cookies - is there anywhere that would have traces? I know people sell software purely to hide your traces so maybe other areas in the registry save things - though possibly not as standard users without admin rights? All thoughts appreciated

Also check out Blue Coats K9 protection. it's not free, but is low cost. We use it in a Internet cafe / Youth Club and it's pretty solid. It prevents things like turning of Safe search and allowing 18+ content on youtube and the likes.

Robert Wilensky:
We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.

I may be mistaken but k9 appears to be free?
Doesn't seem to mention a cost anywhere?

If it relies on proxy use then what if they bypass/change the proxy somehow - do they get no internet or unrestricted internet?

Something like this could be great though it does make you responsable all of a sudden if you're in charge of the filtering, making the fact plenty of images with tame filenames showup being "your fault" somehow :|

Had a look at your lounge website - looks like a great project, grats! Maybe it can be done elsewhere too
