How can I tell the W2K server successfully installed MS patches where I can only remotedly telnet to this W2K server?

(no TS available to connect to this W2K server, only ftp and telnet are available)

Any log files that telling me that particular ms patch was recentl successfully installed? I mean any files under WINNT folder indicated that the ms patches are installed OK?

Please Help.
Regards,
Thuy.

Can you type or display the contents of the .log file for the hotfix?

My other thought is that an $NTUninstallxxxx type file entry under %windir% is only made if the hotfix succeeded.

The real test would be in the registry, but you cannot access that through telnet.

You SHOULD have a file, located in your Winnt (or whatever folder you have Win2K installed) called Windows Update.log.

I installed several patches this morning, then did a search for *.log.

Could you use a program like WinVNC on your remote computer? It's similiar to terminal services and is free. It WILL allow you to run programs remotely. And you can lock workstations, etc. when you need to. I use it to access a server in our computer room and to access desktops 2000 miles away! Not the fastest program in the world, but does a good job.

Thanks your your advise. I will check it.
Regards,
Thuy Nguyen.
