How do I check version software on SD card before plugging into IPO V2 so I prevent putting wrong version software on IP office

You recreate the card in a PC with the correct version.
You could check the time/date of the ip500v2.bin file (you need to know these if you want to use this method)
Depending on the PCS level of the card you can assume a certain release.

Further on, no you cannot do that.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Andy, i assume this is about a new system with a new SD card :)

if it is a new system & a new SD card then you should always assume the firmware on the card is out of date & re-create it

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

On newer versions (believe R8.0 or so on) there is a filelist.txt located on the SD card. Opening that shows the version towards the top of the file.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

It's written on the packaging/label of the SD card ...if it's new :)
