I want to use a e-mail client to get my mail. But I dont know the POP3 address for hotmail. If anyone can tell me the POP3 address and possibly SMTP, or any other way to check my Hotmail

Thianks

Howdy:

Hotmail is web-based and doesn't use a POP server address..

If you go to the Microsoft Knowledge Base and do a search in OE or Outlook forHotmail, it will tell you how to set it up to get your Hotmail through OE or Outlook..

Acutally its only accessible through OE. Outlook doesn't support it.

You can view your Hotmail e-mail in Outlook by creating a Hotmail folder and then associating a Web view of that folder that points to the Hotmail Web site.

FWIW, Outlook 2002 & 2003 do support Hotmail. To view Hotmail using Outlook 2000, follow SESaskDFC's instructions above. Or use OE version 5 or above.

Like SEEaskDFC says,
"Hotmail is web-based and doesn't use a POP server address"

Hotmail uses an Http server in which the url to this is,
but you shouldnt need to add this in manually as if you go to,
(In OE) Tools>Accounts then click on the Add>Mail, enter a display name "Your Name" click next then enter your hotmail email address yourname@hotmail.com & click next, Outlook should pick up the hotmail details automatically & the rest should be self explanatory.

Hope this helps,
FAM

Fam is right there but you also need to enter your hotmal password when setting up the account as http email and not pop3.
