I am creating a check list of tasks that need to be completed/reviewed. when I check one of the items, it saves that check box across all records, and not the specific record. how do i fix this?
In case it's not obvious by my question, I am fairly new to ms access. thanks in advance.

Seems like you use an unbound control in a continuous form ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

i'm not sure what that means (unbound). Basically from the design view I added check boxes to my form. Suggestions to fix? Thanks in advance for assisting a newbie

Ah.

Ok, this is something that happened to me as well.

It's very simple. What you did, was have your tables, then made a form.

After that, you put up a check box on the form. This is unbound, because you didn't assign it to anything.

What you need to do is remove that check box. Close your form, then open your table where the data is, and create a Yes/No field there.

Save it, then open your form back up, and drag that check box from your field list.

That should solve the problem completely.

thanks so much, you described exactly what I did. I will do that and it will most likely fix it. I will let you know. Matt

No problem at all. Like I said, I did this exact same thing.
