Check box frame width

Im creating a form with about 40+ check boxes with the special effect as flat (as opposed to the sunken default) and compared to the rest of the document, the frame of the check box is quite thick.

Is there anyway I can change this thickness?

What application are you using (Word, Excel...), what are you using to add the checkbox and where are you putting the checkbox?

apologies, i searched for an excel forum and got this forum

its excel \o/

to add the check boxes im using the control box toolbar and placing them in merged cells. My task is to replicate a paper form into a digital form in excel.
