Chassis Inventory

I have quite a few 4500 series chassis and need to get an inventory of what is in them.
Other than connecting to each switch and running a sh inventory command is there an easy way to get the inventory?

Unfortunately, the only options, as I know them are:
1. The initial quote when purchased
2. Visible survey
3. Logging in and performing the show inventory
4. Writing a script to perform the work for you and generate the output to a file
5. Hire a contractor to perform the work for you and create a document

That's what I figured.
I tried to snmp walk and find it but could only get the chassis.
I'll try a script.
