Why oh why did my charts disappear when I look at them in design view?
I set them up and now when I look at the report in design view it seems the chart windows are blank. When I run the report the charts do as they were designed to do, but why can't I see them or even the mock chart details (that seemed to be some sort of default view).

Just a little annoyed.

Try changing the backstyle proerty of the chart to "transparent"

What do you see when you double-click the chart control while in design view? What do you want to see?

a blank square that used to contain the chart, so I guess you'd call it the chart window?

Sounds like corruption to me. I would open a new, blank form and copy the chart control from the report to the form. Save and close the form and then open it in design view.

What do you see in form design?

That happens to me with I reference a report control in criteria of the recordsource of the chart. Which makes sense because in design view, there's no data in the report control for it to work. In that case, I put a valid value in the criteria so i can design. Not sure if this is your case or not.
