Charts as Subreport Using the Same Query

I have searched around and have had no luck so far. Basically I created a chart using the same query as the main report. I have then inserted the chart as a subreport into the main report. I had hoped that the parameters "Between (StartDate) and (EndDate)" would take care of the query so that both the report and the subreport (chart) would show the correct information. But unfortunately it just starts up requiring that I enter each parameter three times and ultimately the report shows up correctly with the chart. Any ideas on how to just enter the parameters once so it shows up correctly? I have tried Linking child and parent fields but I keep getting the error message, "Can't build a link between unbound forms." I am new to the area of charts in Access as is apparently evident.

Thanks for pointing out my problem. I did change to a form to input the parameters and it works just fine now. Thanks!!!
