Hi all

I am overlaying line chart on top of bar chart. can any one help me how to set the scale on both charts based on the data so that I can guarantee that both are using the same scale. when i auto select the axis the scale doesnt match and cannot restrict the limits to make the scale match

Thank you

If there is a way to do this, I haven't been able to find it. I finally ended up doing the overlaid chart in Xcelsius where it's not difficult to make sure that the scales for both are synchronized. I then embed the chart in Crystal and use Flash Variables from Crystal to provide the data for the chart. You don't mention which version of Crystal you're using, but this is possible in in 2008 and above (you could use flash objects in XI, but it was much more difficult to get data into them because XI doesn't have the "helper" functions for formatting them that 2008 and 2011 do.)

hi hilfy
can you help me with xcelsius and variables

Thank you

If you go to the notes SAP Crystal Reports and Dashboard Design page on Facebook, there's one that I wrote that walks you through exactly how to do this. I can't get to Facebook from work, so I can't get the exact link for it.

Thank you hilfy

I was very busy and busy now with some other reports.
Thank you

Hilfy

I checked your notes, can you please tell me how i can link the xcelsius excel sheet to the crystal reports to create the flash file.
your excel sheet had values already how did you get those
Please help me

Thank you

There is no "live" link from Crystal to Xcelsius for building the chart. I use dummy data to build the Xcelsius model, putting it in the same cells in Excel where I configure the Flash variables to land. Once the chart is built, I clear out the data, export to Flash, import into Crystal, and set up the Flash variables as the note describes.
