Can you use a character entity (for example: >) as the bullet in an unordered list? Thanks!

best way would probably be to create an image with that character, and then apply that as the background of the list item.

you could potentially use the :before selector (CSS) to declare text that comes before an object, but this is not supported in IE.

So other than using an image, it can't be done?

Yeah, I found that page, but it doesn't show me the CSS. If you look at the code, the character entity has been entered before each item.

it shows you a ton of CSS. as I said earlier, the :before selector does not work in IE, which is why they entered the character code before each item - so it's visible in all browsers for their demonstration.
