I have a channelized 2 port t1 card, multichannel t1/pri, connected to a switch on a t1 port that is clear channel.

im using frame-relay encaps between the 2 interfaces but for whatever reason i cant see LMI from the switch, line is up but protocol is down.

Does anyone here know if the multichannel channelized card should work with a clear channel t1 card?

Do you have static or dynamic frame maps? Do you have multicast enabled, and if not, did you specify the "broadcast" keyword in the frame-relay map command? If they are dynamic, mixed with static, the static mapping will take over, and the inverse arp will be disabled if the router reboots. Post a sh frame-relay map, sh frame-relay lmi, and sh run.

turns out the issue was with the channelized t1 card. for whatever reason protocol wouldnt come up to the frame switch's clear channel t1 card. I guess clear channel and channelized cards dont mix well.

i ended up using a HSSI card on the cisco to the switch and that worked fine. line was up and protocol came up as well.
Everyhting is now working.
