Changing the Unform Dial plan for changed extensions 1

Hi all,

Thank you in advance for your time. In our phone system , we have dial out rules for our UK office extensions (65XX)

anyone dials.. 65XX --> uses route-pattern 222/aar -->adds and removes 222 at the begining of ext (65XX) and dial out (prepends -01144208378) 01144208378 65XX.

aar analysys:

Dialed St Total Min/Max RP call_type node_Num ANI_reqd
65 7 7 222 aar n

UK office has its own PBX with internal extensions 65XX.

Now, the UK users have been moved to different location with different city/extensions and iam looking for the best way my internal users(in US) able to dial new no quicky..

1. Is there a way internal users still dial out same 65XX and still reach the new number.. ex:

6529, it routes to à 011 44 207 899 1381

2. As we no longer use the 65XX block at UK office, is it recomended to 'edit' the existing UDP for 65 to 13 and change the inserting digits to (011 44 207 899 ) and have the US users dial 13XX extension? If this is best solution, how to edit the UDP and aar analysis table?

How many extension are we talking about?
Are the two PBX's connected?
If not why?

Just 3 extensions.PBXs not connected as the new space is a subleased office space owned by different corp and our guys getting their extensions.

If it is just a few, then just set each up as there own AAR, and insert the correct digits.

Thanks again. So you recomend to change the dial digits from 65XX to 13XX and setup 3 different UDPs for each 13XX extension..?

Also, as we may not use 65XX anymore, do you recomend to edit UDP 65 to 13..?

It would be the quickest way. Just document what you did.
And always remove stuff that is no longer needed.

Keeping the system clean of the junk, it helps when you have to trouble shoot.

Thank you ans sorry to ask lot of questions..;-). Here are the steps to follow..

1. change uniform-dialplan 1385 (creates UDP for one extension)
Matching patt len del insert net
1385 4 0 222 aar

2. Change aar analysis 1385 (creates aar for 1385)

Dialed St Total Min/Max RP call_type node_Num ANI_reqd
1385 7 7 222 aar (none) n

3. Change route-pattern 222

grp no FRL No. Del Dgts Inserted digits
41 0 3 01144207899

Repeate Step 1 & 2 for rest of the 2 extensions. Step 3 remains same for all.

is that correct?

If the codes are not the same you will need to add 2 more aar list and set up like the current one with the correct numbers.

Codes are same for the extensions. Guys sitting in the same office with different extension. So the 3 numbers will be...
01144207899 1385/1390/1391.

In this case the steps I mentioned above should work.. is that correct..?

Hi David/other gurus,

Based on my above Q&A threads, incase if I want to change the UDP :65 to UDP:13, then simply doing the below helps..??

1. change uniform-dialplan 65
Matching patt len del insert net
65 4 0 222 aar

--> Chaging the 65 to 13

2.Change aar analysis 65

Dialed St Total Min/Max RP call_type node_Num ANI_reqd
65 7 7 222 aar (none) n

--> Chaging the 65 to 13

and then finaly

3. Change route-pattern 222

grp no FRL No. Del Dgts Inserted digits
41 0 3 01144207899

Replace old city code from 'Inserted Digits' with new code.

Dpes this work as well..? Iam asking this as we may not use the 65XX any more.

If you replace the old 65 stuff with the correct 13, yes it would work like it did for 65.

One thing you need to remember is that if someone dialed a 13xx number that was not one of the 3 ext numbers you want for this. Then that number would tried and go out like the others. that is why I would recommend make 3 UDP rules.

So this would only work for the 3 numbers you want it to work for.

Just an update.. we went with the easy setup- setting up internal (US) extensions and forwarded them to UK#. As only few extenions, it went nice..;-). Thank you all for your time. One last thing.. How can I get rid of UDP 65 and RP 222 (to 65XX calls)? What cmmands should I use?

Change uniform-dialplan x
then delete the items.

Change route x
and remove the information.
