Hey all,

I am in a bit of a jam, I took over the job of creating a 28 page catalog of our product that is at the wrong trim size for our printer, a problem he somehow made it through the previous time.

The current layout's trim size is 8.5 wide by 11 high
The trim size for the printing company is 8.375 wide by 10.875 wide.

I am using Quark 5 and need to change the size to the new, however when I try to it give me an error saying that "This page size would cause the items on page 1 to be positioned off the pasteboard.

So do I need to create a new document and copy everything? Or is there an easier way to change the layout size?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am in a huge jam.

Thanks again, Scott Madrigal

Scott,

It sounds to me as if there's no serious problem with your document, you just have some page element on page 1 that extends out to the edge of the pasteboard.

Quark is stubborn about this kind of thing and won't let you resize the page. Just move the outer edge of the object inside 1/8" or more. Look at all your pages and repeat as needed, then reset the document size.

HTH,

Bill

Bill is correct

I'd just like to add that the problem would be in the page height - something does not fit in the very short pasteboard height - width never seems to be the problem
